5 Body Worries You Should Never Be Embarrassed About

During your lifetime you’re going to suffer or experience all sorts of different issues with your body. There’s no getting around that and there’s nothing wrong with that. Your body changes throughout your life and it will always do this. Your body reacts to different foods, different climates, different products you use but it also reacts heavily to the life situations you’re in. Everyone is the same and most of the things you experience aren’t serious and will heal themselves with time, rest, and good nutrition. However, this doesn’t stop people from being embarrassed about their bodies and what’s going on with them when there really is no need to be. Here are five common body worries that you really shouldn’t be embarrassed about.

What’s Down The Toilet?

Although going to the toilet is one of the most natural things in the world, something that everyone does and something they do a number of times a day, it is still something that people are embarrassed about talking about. Toilet problems have become something of a joke or worse than that, they are considered taboo and they shouldn’t be. There are so many health issues you could be suffering from ‘down there’ from a urine infection to constipation to piles, and they’ll likely leave you feeling discomfort yet most of these problems can be treated with products over the counter, so if you don’t feel quite ready to go to the doctor, then you could try your pharmacist first. There’s nothing to be embarrassed about and there’s no need to suffer in silence.

Diarrhea is another problem that people tend to be embarrassed to talk about. However, if you’re experiencing it alongside abdominal pain or cramps and there is no clear explanation, it’s worth getting it checked out. Options like ulcerative colitis treatment may be able to help you. However, the gut can be pretty complicated, so you don’t know until you have a doctor take a look at it, meaning you have to speak up about it.

Can You Hear Me?

For some strange reason, lots of people are embarrassed about having difficulty hearing. It’s something that can be made fun of and then leave people feeling self-conscious and worried about asking people to repeat themselves. Losing your hearing can also make you feel isolated, but it’s important to remember that you’re not alone and it happens to lots of people and can usually be easily treated. If you’re worried about buying hearing aids, don’t be. Go and see a hearing specialist and they will help you every step of the way, this isn’t something you should be embarrassed about at all.

What’s That Smell?

You can’t always smell yourself, but other people can, and if it’s bad, then it can be upsetting if someone tells you making it difficult for others too. However, if you do find out that you suffer from unwelcome body odor then it can soon be sorted. Body odor is mostly associated with the armpits but you can also get it in the groin, anus area, upper thighs, and feet. This means that thoroughly washing your skin with a wet washcloth and soap in those areas is essential. Then there are other things you could try such as using an antiperspirant before you go to bed or changing your diet as sometimes, fatty foods, oils, or strong-smelling foods such as garlic, curry, and onions, can seep through your pores and cause body odor.

What’s Going On In Your Head?

Mental Health has always been a bit of a taboo subject and while this is changing now and becoming something that more people discuss openly, it is still something that people feel embarrassed about. It makes sense because often people don’t understand it themselves, they don’t know why they are feeling unhappy when things are going well or they don’t understand why they don’t want to go out and see their friends who they love. Anxiety and depression are very common mental illnesses though and the more that people talk about them, the more that others learn about them and understand them. Mental health is just like physical health and sometimes it’s in peak condition and other times it needs some extra care and attention. This is the same for everyone, so next time you’re feeling embarrassed about it, remember that by telling someone else about how you’re feeling, you could actually be helping them to understand how they are feeling.

Why’s There So Much Hair?

For women, in particular, excessive hair growth can be embarrassing. However, it is a real problem and is known as Hirsutism and is often caused by genes, hormones, or medication. It can make people feel self-conscious, but if you are worried about having excessive hair growth, don’t feel embarrassed about going to the doctor as there are a number of ways this can be treated. So don’t let it get you down, make sure you go and get help about whatever problem you’re feeling embarrassed about, and hopefully, it won’t be a problem for much longer.
